The M4 Project

In January 2003, 40 year 6 children from Llanedeyrn Primary School, Bryn Celyn Primary School, Springwood Primary School and Glyncoed Junior School, together with 10 Year 7 children from Llanedeyrn High School, met for the first time.

They decided that there were many questions and concerns that needed answering with regard their forthcoming move from primary to secondary education. They wanted to produce a video, a booklet and a website to answer all these questions and make the move far less daunting.

This group met every week, after school and drew up questions, story boards and editing boards; took part in drama activities, as well as leading circle time activities back in their own classrooms, bringing together every Year 6 child in the cluster of schools.

It is through their hard work, their ability to communicate with others and above all their commitment to the M4 Project that has brought about the video, booklet and website that is now available for Year 6 parents and pupils, both present and future, to use to make MOVING FORWARD to high school an enjoyable and educational experience.
